Dec 12, 2022

It’s off-the-charts festive around these parts as we move deeper into December. Hanukkah arrives a week early with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings doing their funky ode to the Festival of Lights. Lean in close to learn which holiday-averse legend wrote the misanthropic masterpiece “Another Lonely Christmas,” and performed it live only once in 1984. And we’re dropping that last one by request — hit us up on Twitter with your own festive faves.

But it’s not all holiday, all the time… yet. Today’s Top Tune “Carta” comes from this year’s Latin Grammy winning “Best New Artist,” Silvana Estrada. The Mexican indie-folkstress has been in heavy rotation since her latest album, Marchita, dropped in January… and tomorrow’s the big night to find out if it makes our Best Albums of 2022. Join us for KCRW’s “Best of 2022” event on Zoom — it’s FREE with an RSVP here!

Now, of course, anyone can come to the Best Of event, but only KCRW Members can come to the AMA-style afterparty with all of your favorite KCRW DJs. Lucky for you, you can become a member today, and not only gain access to the party, but be automatically entered to win VIP admission for two to Frieze LA. As a VIP, you’ll enjoy early access to over 20 galleries from 22 countries around the world, and exclusive events. DO IT!!!
