NoSo, the project of LA-based Baek Hwong, is shorthand for North/South, which is a nod to their Korean heritage, and to a question regularly posed to Korean Americans: “Which Korea are you from?” Sway along to “David,” a cut off their debut album “Stay Proud of Me,” out today! The album was a three-year labor of love, which Hwong says involved developing the courage to be a producer, learning bass and piano, and recording these components themselves.

We also pay tribute to William "Boogie" Hart, co-founder and vocalist of legendary R&B soul group The Delfonics, who died Thursday night at the age of 77. We spin a couple classics that contributed to his profound legacy, including the oft-sampled 1968 hit “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide From Love).” The track inspired The Fugees’ 1996 release “Ready or Not” and is sampled on Missy Elliott’s “Sock it 2 Me,” from her game-changing “Spa Dupa Fly” album — which coincidentally dropped 25 years ago today.
