The music community reels from the loss of two icons of 1960s cool: Brazilian composer and pianist João Donato, who helped lay the groundwork for bossa nova; and English model/actress/singer who appeared on the musical map in large part due to collaborations with Serge Gainsbourg — Jane Birkin.
