LA’s Mal Not Bad comes with quite a pedigree: Opening for acts like Skullcrusher and illuminati hotties, and collaborating with Mk.gee, Rett Madison, Jensen McRae, Miya Folick, and more. Mal’s skittering rhythms and feelings-forward vocals make the soft soft-focus pop track “Life” a must-hear. Check it out as part of today’s MBE. Plus, Leeds-based modern (semi) jazz quartet Adult Jazz make an appearance with “Marquee,” an structurally agnostic sonic adventure that you can also find on their recent LP So Sorry So Slow.
