California garage grrrls La Luz are readying their new LP News of the Universe for indie/punk stalwarts Sub Pop Records (due May 10). Lead single “Strange World” is a tightly constructed rock ‘n’ roll delight so bang your head mightily as you listen to it in this edition of MBE. Plus, further co-mingling of rock’s past and future via King Isis’ snarling new single “Monki” and London artist Lava La Rue’s “funkadelic Britpop.”
