Nov 17, 2022

Get ready to dance, because Morning’s Becoming a Rave thanks to some seriously unexpected bangers. Stockholm-based artist Stella Explorer channels Patti Smith into her electronic compositions… and it works!? Along those lines, “Who Me?” from Glaswegian-duo LAPS (Ladies as Pimps) is pop meets hip-hop with an experimental flair.

Next is our weekly trip down south for Global Beat: Mexico, and this one’s extra fun. NPR’s Betto Arcos — fresh from his recent sojourn to the Mexican megaevent Festival Cervantino — spins delightfully genre-bending tracks rife with cross-cultural influences. P.S. Tickets are going fast for our very first Global Beat: Live! Featuring Sgt. Papers, Parque de Cometas and Marion Raw — it’s all happening at the Paramount Theater TONIGHT, and it will be epic. Grab your spot now.

And we have the perfect way to get you into your weekend groove early — entering you into the mix for FREE tickets to check out California's sweet soul pioneers, Thee Sacred Souls. They’re bringing that magic touch to Garibaldina Hall on Friday, Dec. 9, and we have five pairs of tickets to give away. Enter here, and good luck!
