5 South OC Cities Sued over Intransigence on Homelessness

For decades, one of the dirtiest open secrets in Orange County was the open disgust cities in South OC--wealthier and newer--had toward homeless. Police officers and sheriffs deputies would remove homeless from city limits and leave them in Santa Ana. Cities refused to build shelters. Even as a federal judge threatened last year to lift anti-camping ordinances if South OC didn't help with the region's homeless issue, residents and city officials alike just shrugged their shoulders. Now, activists have sued the cities of Irvine, Aliso Viejo, San Clemente, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano over the issue, asking US District Court Judge David O. Carter to act on their intransigence. What will happen next?
