Today, a bankruptcy court judge approved a request from Freedom Communications, parent company of the Orange County Register, to have its assets sold to Digital First Media. This came a week after Tribune Media put in the highest bid in an auction for Freedom at $54 million, shortly followed by the feds filing an anti-trust lawsuit to block the move.
