Activists promise to monitor polls, hearkening to an infamous 1988 incident in which the OC GOP and then-Assemblymember Curt Pringle had to pay $400,000 for illegally posting poll guards outside Santa Ana voting booths. OC Dems have a good chance of winning new state assembly and senate seats, along with congressional and supervisor races. And Garden Grove and Anaheim try out district elections for the first time, a trend that promises to come to other OC cities next election. Will this be the most important election in OC history?
