Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson drew fire earlier this week for proposing a vote on a measure for this November's election that would extend supervisorial term limits from two four-year terms to three four-year terms. Many critics saw it as self-serving, since Nelson will be termed out in two years. However, a move by politicians to extend term limits has gained steamed in the past couple of years. In 2012, Santa Ana council members gave themselves a third four-year term, the same year then-Supervisor John Moorlach proposed the same thing Nelson is now doing. Will such a movement gain more traction?
