On Thursday, President Joe Biden unveiled an ambitious plan to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in half by the end of the decade. The announcement helped kick off a virtual climate summit with leaders of 40 countries, including China, India, and Russia.
His administration aims to reestablish the U.S. as a world leader on climate change after former President Donald Trump pulled the nation out of the Paris Agreement and pushed for deregulation.
