Brie Larson is amazing in ‘Captain Marvel,’ but her character falls a little flat

Our critics review “Captain Marvel,” the first stand-alone female superhero movie from the comic franchise; “Gloria Bell,” in which Julianne Moore plays a divorced middle-aged woman who lives alone in LA and works in insurance, then finds herself in an unexpected romance; “The Kid,” about a young boy who runs into the criminal Billy the Kid and law officer Pat Garrett; and “I’m Not Here,” about a man who struggles with his tragic history.
