California garlic farmers benefit from US-China trade war

American garlic growers have struggled to compete with cheaper Chinese imports of the aromatic kitchen staple. But now, President Trump’s increased tariffs on those imports mean sales of California-grown garlic have gone up. Farmers in Gilroy in Northern California, the self-proclaimed “garlic capital of the world,” are celebrating.
