Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, just days after Colombian voters rejected a peace deal he had been negotiating with FARC rebels to end 52 years of conflict. Then, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck told reporters Thursday that 16-year-old Danny Perez, who was shot and killed by police Sunday in South LA, wanted the police to shoot him. How often does ‘suicide by cop’ happen? Next, a new report by the USDA reveals the American Egg Board overstepped federal rules trying to crush an eggless vegan mayonnaise brand called Just Mayo. Among the weekend’s new releases is “The Birth of a Nation,” the biopic about Nat Turner. Can it overcome the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding writer-director-star Nate Parker? And finally, Issa Rae talks about her new HBO comedy, “Insecure.”
