Controversial state housing plan gets pulled from a vote

It would have forced cities like LA and San Francisco to build more housing along transit lines and in neighborhoods dominated by single-family homes. The bill seemed to have more traction in the legislature this year, after Weiner failed to get the bill to a floor vote last year.
