Governor Gavin Newsom just announced a mandatory stay-at-home order for most of the state from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. This begins Saturday and will last for one month. LA County reported more than 5000 coronavirus new cases on Thursday. That’s the highest single day number so far. If that number doesn’t improve soon, there could be more restrictions.

LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn says, “We have to remember what it was like when there were very few cars on the street, and it almost seemed a little eerie that people weren't out and about. And we're looking to go back to that maybe next week, all the way through the end of the year.”

She continues, “And it's unfortunate because I think people thought we were learning to live with this virus and putting safety protocols in place. But these numbers don't indicate that we have got it under control at all.”
