The LA Times has suffered through ownership changes, budget cuts, and newsroom layoffs. Now Patrick Soon-Shiong is close to finalizing a deal to buy the paper for half a billion dollars. He met with the staff on Friday to talk about his vision for the Times, which includes moving the office to El Segundo.
