Now there's a U.S. version: 22 attractive, swimsuit-wearing Americans move to a mansion in Fiji to find love. Someone gets “dumped” and sent packing in each episode. It's pretty standard reality fare.
The audience sees the drama just hours after it unfolds. The Love Islanders are filmed 24/7, and they have no idea what the audience sees.
When they get booted, sometimes the way they've been portrayed can be a shock. They find out they were edited to look like a villain, or that their intimate moments were seen by their parents.
