The California Supreme Court says tech giants have to turn over private posts

The California Supreme Court says tech companies like Facebook and Twitter have to turn over private posts and chats to defense lawyers.

That ruling comes in a gang-related murder trial in San Francisco, where defense attorneys are seeking private posts between the victim and one of the prosecution's witnesses. It’s the first time such an order has been enforced in a California court and possibly the first time in any state court.
