    The LA city council is thinking about raising speed limits on about 100 miles of city streets. They want police to be able to ticket more drivers to make streets safer. A decades-old California law requires cities to post speed limits that show how fast people naturally drive on those roads. But if a speed limit is too low or is more than seven years old, police aren’t allowed to use radar guns, laser guns, or other technology to issue speeding tickets.
