The Trump administration is backing off plans to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Tubman’s face would have replaced that of former President Andrew Jackson, a slaveholder who allowed forcing Native Americans off their ancestral lands.
The Trump administration is backing off plans to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Tubman’s face would have replaced that of former President Andrew Jackson, a slaveholder who allowed forcing Native Americans off their ancestral lands. The redesign was supposed to be unveiled next year, and it was years in the making. But current Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin now says that won’t happen until President Trump leaves office -- in 2028.
