“Vida,” a new dramedy on Starz, brings the gentrification battles in East Los Angeles to the small screen. The show chronicles the journey of two Latina sisters when they return to their old Boyle Heights stomping grounds following their mother’s death. Showrunner Tanya Saracho is the creator and the first Latina showrunner on a premium cable show. She talks about cultural identity and what she learned shooting “Vida.”
