RESIDENT DJ 044: Panda Bear & Sonic Boom
Panda Bear & Sonic Boom are KCRW's Resident DJs for August 2026.
Panda Bear & Sonic Boom are KCRW's Resident DJs for August 2026.
Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3) and Panda Bear (Animal Collective) have been prolific collaborators across a variety of musical projects in recent years. Their second proper album as a duo, "A ? Of When," arrived on July 10. In a statement about the album, they say: "Going forward we're looking to radio, live shows, listening parties, Q&A sessions & real life interactions to get back to a place we feel makes more sense." As an extension of this strategy, the pair join KCRW for our Resident DJ series throughout August 2026. This is their first mix in the series.

SiLVA
A dance-forward mix that moves freely between house, disco, boogie, electronic music, global club sounds, and plenty in between. SiLVA’s sets are built for Saturday night, mixing new tracks, classics, edits, and deep cuts without getting boxed into one genre. The emphasis is on movement, surprise, and keeping the energy alive from one record to the next. Tune in to SiLVA Saturday evenings from 6 to 8pm.
Tyler "Boogie" Boudreaux
Part wax, part digital, pure heat. Tyler “Boogie” Boudreaux channels KCRW’s eclectic sound through a kaleidoscope of psych, garage rock, soul, funk, and indie sounds. Vintage records collide with new releases, while house, indie dance, post-punk, trip-hop, darkwave, and unexpected detours keep the boundaries loose. The common thread is energy, groove, and discovery, with one hand in the crates and the other firmly planted in what’s happening now. Tune in to Tyler’s show Thursday nights from 8 to 10pm.
