The Directors Guild of America has released their nominations for the DGA awards. No real surprises on the list, but notable that they are all first-time nominees. In the first-time director category, Nate Parker gets his first acknowledgement of the season.
With nominations from both the Producers Guild and the Writers Guild, plus a first-time director nod from the DGA for Tim Miller, Deadpool is officially in the awards race.
Hollywood has claimed to be on a quest for gender parity, but a new study shows the percentage of female directors actually went down this year.
