The Netflix original series, House of Cards, was released in one full 13-episode season on February 1. We talk with the showrunner, Beau Willimon, about this Netflix experiment to make a new kind of television show and release it in a new kind of way. He says that along with himself, executive producer-director David Fincher, and others had no traditional TV experience and they tried to use their ignorance to fuel their creativity. He also addresses critiques that by releasing the full season at once, it could be easily forgotten as time goes on. He challenges those that are wed to the old model of releasing episodes week to week.
