He also proposed a 35% tariff on any cars built in Mexico and sold in the United States. Now he’s triumphantly tweeted credit that he convinced Ford to keep open their plant in Louisville, Kentucky – which Ford flatly denies was ever under consideration. What will the automotive industry, which makes up about 3.5% of the total national domestic economy, worth about $437 billion last year, look like in the coming Trump Era?
