It's not often that filmmakers turn to literary devices rather than film conventions for their work. It happens to be the case for director Vadim Perelman for both House of Sand and Fog and his newest, The Life Before Her Eyes.

Starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood, and based on Laura Kasischke's novel, The Life Before Her Eyes is about the choices we make, how they impact our future, both real and imagined, and how these choices result in a range of conflicting truths and emotions.
