Brown’s death is only the latest in a recent string of officer-involved killings of black teenagers, and the trouble is: “in the minds of many Americans, there’s no longer any difference between a black person and a thug.” Dr. Andre Perry is founding dean of urban education at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
