Júníus Meyvant: Mighty Backbone

Just last month, Icelander Júníus Meyvant unleashed his music via a full length debut in his homeland, capturing many Nordic countries with his sound. Far from cold and minimalist, we hear snappy horns and all the fixings of northern soul on "Mighty Backbone."

Júníus Meyvant is the curator of the Nordic Playlist, a website where artists create hand-picked playlists recommending their favourite musical discoveries from the Nordic countries. The Icelander also joined the Nordic Playlist to perform a live rendition of his track "Pearl In Sandbox" at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, a song which accompanies Today's Top Tune "Mighty Backbone" on the artist's debut album, Floating Harmonies.
