While having produced for many great artists including Julieta Venegas, Natalia LaFourcade, and Los Bunkers, it is finally time for del Real to be in the limelight. “Princesa,” an epic and almost ironic scorcher, echoes the romantic ballads of the ‘70s. A full album is due out this Spring.
“’Princesa’ was a revelation. I had never presented it to the band, because I suspected the lyrics wouldn’t resonate with them.” shares del Real. “But then I found another sketch of a song that had a similar tempo, merged the two ideas together, and suddenly everything made sense. For the first time, I feel that I can be a singer. There is a self-esteem that was missing in me, but then these songs arrived and offered it to me. They motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and do something new. All those feelings evolved into an album that is now ready to see the light of day.”
