He may not be a household name, but Rogér Fakhr is regarded as a genius mythical figure in Lebanese music. A talented sideman and guitarist that worked with many artists, including the the most famous singer in the Arab world Fairuz, Fahkr’s own work was recorded in the late 1970s at the height of the conflict in Beirut, which prevented his recordings from being circulated. Thanks to the label Habibi Funk, we can now enjoy Fakhr’s “Had to Come Back Wet.”
