Jonny Pierce, the man behind The Drums, had been experiencing the sinking feeling of depression for some time but was trying everything he could toward a healthier outlook. He began to ponder, "Is this dull, sad feeling in my DNA? Is it part of my gene pool? Can it ever be corrected? I had been confronting some of my most stubborn demons, and I came to realize that confronting doesn’t always mean conquering.” He answered with "Body Chemistry," the first song written from his upcoming album.
