    In 2017, The War And Treaty’s Michael Trotter was struggling with PTSD after serving in Iraq and was contemplating ending his life. Trotter felt he was holding his family back and the insurance money would take care of them. Trotter’s wife and musical partner Tanya Blount Trotter pleaded with him saying that if he gave her five more minutes to let her love him, she’d show him how staying in the world would make sense. Luckily he did and the chorus of “Five More Minutes” was written.
