Despite one cheekily titled song that you’ll hear in this installment of FREAKS ONLY, we are emphatically NOT “Bored Of Guitar.” While the sounds run the gamut as you’ve some to expect, many guitars are being put to excellent use throughout this range of song selects: Austin post-punks Being Dead give us the frenetic “Van Goes,” Kate Bollinger’s “What’s This About (La La La La)” is another in her strong folk-pop lineage, and we get another taste of big time guitar guy Jack White’s mysterious recent record drop.
