A Slow Burn

It’s been a few weeks since my last show.

I’ve been taking this time to process the changing world around me, and what might my new role be. I had a pretty fixed schedule: Monday nights KCRW studio, Wednesday nights Desert Nights at the Standard and then weekends off somewhere in the world, DJing parties for people celebrating life, new beginnings, and milestones. All of this has moved online, and it’s just not the same.

I do my best thinking in silence…So I’ve been sitting still a lot…and going out to the nature. Hikes and beach walks is what keeps me sane.

Also, I’ve been gravitating more towards a more mellow sound. Not that I still don’t love a good disco and house beat, I do very much, but for the past few weeks, I’ve been enjoying the other side of me.

This mix is, with the exception of one or two songs, pretty much all new stuff that I’ve been feeling…I hope you discover some new sounds that you’re into that may inspire your mind to take off in a new direction.

So here it is, a mostly mellow collection of songs, with, of course, a few that will make your head bob and feet tap in place…or not.
