State and Cities in Tug of War over Redevelopment Rights

Governor Brown wants to shut down community redevelopment agencies and spend their money on schools, police and firefighters. The CRA of Los Angeles plans to thwart that plan by turning over $930 million to the City Council, which would then build CRA projects. Brown's reaction? We'll just raid some other source of city money. We update that story. Also, a mosque is approved in Temecula -- in the wee hours of the morning. On our rebroadcast of To the Point, the State of the Union speech, the Republicans and next year's presidential campaign.

Governor Brown wants to shut down community redevelopment agencies and spend their money on schools, police and firefighters. The CRA of Los Angeles plans to thwart that plan by turning over $930 million to the City Council, which would then build CRA projects. Brown's reaction? On our rebroadcast of today's To the Point, last night's State of the Union speech was the beginning of the next presidential campaign, and President Obama took his message out on the road today. We hear about that and Republican reaction.
