State Ordered to Intervene at Jefferson High

Here in Los Angeles school started nearly two months ago, but some students at LA Unified’s Jefferson High School still aren’t assigned to classes that they need to graduate. A computer scheduling snafu assigned these kids to to overbooked classrooms or placed them in the same courses they’ve taken and passed. Yesterday a superior court judge issued a temporary restraining order to require the state to address the problem; it was part of a class action lawsuit involving underperforming schools in California.
