Since the 1970's a steady stream of music and the voice of Lakers' announcer Chick Hearn filled the arena of Inglewood's Fabulous Forum. It wasn't all sports and rock and roll. In 1972, Barbra Streisand performed at a fundraiser for Democratic Presidential candidate George McGovern. Twenty years after the McGovern fundraiser, Kurt Cobain opened a concert in honor of River Phoenix, who had recently died. But the iconic, multiple-use venue fell on hard times after the Lakers and Kings moved to Staples Center in 1999. Tonight, the music is back with the first of six concerts by the Eagles, thanks to $100 million invested by the Madison Square Garden Company. We hear some historical moments and look at the Forum's future.
