    Wesley Snipes: Punished for Being Famous?

    In February, actor Wesley Snipes was acquitted of tax fraud and conspiracy, but convicted of failing to file federal tax returns for three years in a row. Those were misdemeanor charges, and Snipes apologized and even tried to make a down payment.

    In February, actor Wesley Snipes was acquitted of tax fraud and conspiracy, but convicted of failing to file federal tax returns for three years in a row. Those were misdemeanor charges, and Snipes apologized and even tried to make a down payment. But Florida federal judge William Terrell Hodges wouldn’t accept it and he sentenced Snipes to a year on each count - 3 years in federal prison.
