Will LA Crack Down on Airbnb?

Twenty million people have rented places to stay from a service that offers almost a million different listings in 190 countries. Everything is selected and paid for online. These beds aren't provided by a hotel chain. Instead hosts and guests are linked directly through the website Airbnb, which has become a major player in the growing short-term rental market. But current laws governing the hospitality business are ill-equipped to deal with short-term rentals like Airbnb, and in Los Angeles, that's sparked a debate about how to regulate it.
