Anderson .Paak is an Angeleno on the rise.

His vocal hooks were prominently featured all over Dr Dre’s long-awaited last album — “Compton” — and two of .Paak’s own releases, 2014’s “Venice” and his recent offering “Malibu“, show he is capable of a lot – seamlessly melding styles (Hip Hop, R&B, soul, etc…) in a way that makes you feel guilty about trying to categorize him.

But it wasn’t until “Am I Wrong“, which features some verses from Schoolboy Q, that I became a massive fan.

Since becoming obsessed with that incredibly funky and fun song, I’ve listened to the “Malibu” album on repeat and it’s sure to be one of our fair city’s best offerings of this year.

Hip yourself to Anderson .Paak now, because I have a feeling there is a lot more to come from this mega-talented singer/rapper/producer.
