From DJ AnthonyValadez:

I first heard Austin PeraltaTom Schnabel’s on program. It was a live performance and I heard the voice of this kid who really loved his craft. Then, come to find he is the son of legendary skater Stacy Peralta. I enjoyed the sounds and that was that…or so I thought.

About a month later my friend Steve Ellison, who heads the LA label Brainfeeder — and who most people know as Flying Lotus — sends me an MP3 of this track that he is going to release with a few other songs.

At first glance, I couldn’t understand how a label which is home to many beatmakers and producers (Samiyam, Tokimonsta, Daedelus and Gaslamp Killer to name a few) could move into this new jazz direction, until I heard the release of Flying Lotus’ Cosmogamma album and then it all made sense.

The freestyle jazz elements heard on that album are similar to magic moments on Peralta’s “Endless Planets” which is a step in a new direction for the young and vibrant label.
