AVENUE: Artist You Should Know
Song Premier of Avenue’s new disco pop track featuring vocals from Tokyo Police Club. You’re going to love it so give it a listen!
By Eric J. Lawrence • • 1 min readSam Willows, the 21-year-old Toronto native who goes by the name of Avenue, has been exploring the ever-decreasing line between pop and dance music with a series of noteworthy remixes over his brief, but burgeoning career.
Reinterpreting tunes from the likes of Miami Horror, Citizens! & Tears for Fears has nicely set him up for dipping his toes into releasing his own music with Keep Counting, his debut EP, coming out 10/2 on Haven Sounds (a label based in Toronto, but with roots right here in LA).
Our first taste is “Our Love,” a glossy gem that nicely captures the shimmer of 21st disco with a snappy indie-pop melody, courtesy of a vocal hook from fellow Canadians Tokyo Police Club. Sounds like we’ll be happily travelling down this road in the future!
