His debut single is a searing rock track, he’s heading out on tour with Jack White in July, AND playing the Newport Folk Festival and Lollapalooza this summer. Things are looking good for Benjamin Booker.
The 22-year-old singer from New Orleans has a full-length album set for release later this year.
His single “Violent Shiver” doesn’t sound like anything else on the KCRW airwaves right now and is a much needed infusion of bluesy roughness.
It sounds like he’s been up all night drinking whiskey and smoking cigarettes with a guitar in his hand wherever he may go.
Between the rolling drums, sweet guitar licks and his confident delivery, I’m sold!
Expect big things…
