As regular readers of this blog know, I tend to become obsessed with songs from time to time. My current obsession — “Huggin & A Kissin” from LA’s own Big Black Delta. I’ve literally listened to it a half-dozen times in the last 48 hours!

I only know two things about this band — it’s a “bedroom” project from Jonathan Bates, the former frontman for indie rockers Mellowdrone and current bassist in the White Sea, AND he teamed up with M83 for a remix of Daft Punk’s “Fall” which we premiered here on this very blog!

I sent this to a few KCRW Djs and the reaction was immediate so I figured I’d share it with you too. I was introduced to the song by Buzz Bands’ Kevin Bronson who interviewed Jonathan about his foray into electronica and notes that the track sounds “sounds like Every Eighties Band We Loved.”

Couldn’t agree more!

If you really love it, you can download it here.
