By Rachel Reynolds • • 1 min readheBlack Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach has been putting his magic touch on a wide range of artists from Dr. John to LA’s Hanni El Khatib, however my recent obsession is his work with Nonesuch labelmate, and renowned Tuareg guitarist/singer Bombino.
Bombino’s live performance on KCRW was one of the most memorable I’ve witnessed. The Niger-born artist has a powerful magnetism in his playing and singing that is wholly present on the single “Amidinine”.
The full album, “Nomad”, was recorded at Auerbach’s Nashville studio, Easy Eye Sound and will be out on April 2 and is streaming in full as part of our Album Preview series.
