Moby and Frances Anderton

KCRW’s DnA host Frances Anderton recently ran into animal loving, electronic musician Moby at A+D Museum. Turns out he’s an L.A. building buff. He told her that no, he doesn’t have a secret degree in architecture, just a “dilettantish ill-informed love” of quirky buildings. He moved to L.A. recently and started writing the perfectly named: Moby Los Angeles Architecture Blog.

“L.A. architecture is utterly random,” he told Frances. He also explained that when it comes to the built environment, L.A. has New York beat. “New York has become a playground for hedge fund managers and tourists and L.A. has a weirdness that almost no other city in the Western world has.” (He also said that L.A. land is cheap — if only!).
