Then last night I came across a Tribe Called Quest/Pharcyde mashup that I am currently obsessed with. It is also available as a free download on Bandcamp from Gummy Soul.
Amerigo Gazaway is the man behind the music and he utilizes “the original Jazz, Soul and Funk recordings sampled throughout A Tribe Called Quest’s extensive catalogue” to recreate classic production. He pairs his “reinterpreted instrumentals” with select vocals from West Coast favorites, The Pharcyde.
It’s brilliant. A perfect weekend soundtrack and you can sample my favorite below.
