Fandom: Sara Quin from Tegan and Sara on Courtney Barnett

As part of our Fandom series we have Sara Quin from Tegan and Sara telling us about one of her favorite new artists.

Courtney Barnett is my favorite new-ish discovery.

I haven’t been listening to a lot of music with vocals this year but when I heard “Avant Gardener” I didn’t think twice about downloading the rest of the album.The songs seem to be ushering in a spring feeling for me.

I immediately want to sit on my balcony at home and drink a light beer and do random internet searches for cheap bicycles.

I guess what I’m saying is, this music makes me feel young and somewhat care-free. So far there is no hang over. I love the narrative that slinks through the whole song and anything to do with respiratory problems speak to my asthmatic anxious soul.
