It’s Friday afternoon and we had a holiday in the middle of the week so it’s almost like we started this week TWICE. Now I’m thrilled it’s about to be over and, going into this weekend, I wanted to share 4 songs I’m loving that make a perfect soundtrack for a variety of summer activities.

*Get up early and do something you’ve never done before.

Courtesy of Matt and Kim. Their new track “Let’s Go” in an insta-party and a great motivator to take on the town.

*Cruise down PCH (or any other scenic drive).

Courtesy of Mystery Jets. How can you resist sha la la las like these? You can’t. You might even feel compelled to sing along. “Greatest Hits” is Brit pop guaranteed to put a smile on your face. (there is some profanity…just a warning)

*Rock the Party

Courtesy of Japandroids. This could be my song of the summer. An epic rock anthem that iscurrently offered as a free download on their Soundcloud page. A fist-pumping gem from the Canadian duo’s new album “Celebration Rock”.

*Looking for Some Late Night Lovin’

Courtesy of The Grates. This doesn’t require much explanation. Singer Patience Hodgson sings “Turn Me On” repeatedly with a driving rock riff and propulsive beat behind her. It’s from the Austrailian band’s album “Secret Rituals”.
